Do you ever ask yourself “Where does the time go?” How can I create more time to achieve tasks or spend more time with friends & family?
At BOA we believe we have a solution which helps loggers “turn wasted time into profit”. We’re focused on solving the problem of large hydraulic repair bills, expensive hose and fittings, and most importantly expensive and wasted downtime for both machines and crew.
Working alongside the industry since the 1960’s, and through extensive research starting in 2010, we have produced 3 simple and powerful initiatives, which when combined provide a unique integrated solution:
- Premium quality hose at fair prices
- A state-of-art mobile hose assembly facility
- A mobile App to manage inventory & schedule maintenance
We’ve taken a fresh approach to design a game-changing solution which provides an alternative to the “call out” service model. Our business model is based on empowering contractors to repair and maintain your own hydraulic hoses onsite, using your own staff. The result of this over the last five years is that crews have been able to reduce “downtime” to 20 minutes when replacing basic hydraulic hoses.
We work with many logging contractors across New Zealand, from Kaitaia to Invercargill, and its rewarding when we hear constructive feedback and positive experiences. Ron a Taupo based logger says that BOA has delivered significant savings for him in two areas, “We save the most in the uptime of our machines as our machines are going all the time, and that alone is huge. When machines are broken down, no money. Another place that we do save is in the cost of hoses, I’m saving up to 50% on what some other suppliers offer, so that’s good for me and good for my pocket.”
One of the key factors in our model is that we supply premium quality Yokohama hoses, which are super tough and flexible. Yokohama hoses pass rigorous Hitachi and Komatsu spike testing, which most other branded hoses don’t. This demonstrates Yokohama hoses can withstand the toughest working conditions, and some of our customers tell us that they are getting two or three times more usage from our replacement hoses. Another important component is our comprehensive training programme, in which we pass on specialist knowledge to contractor crews so you can do your repairs yourself.
After years of reviewing customer feedback and research we have developed a state-of-art mobile hose making unit we call the BOApod, which we are launching at HarvestTech 2019. This enables users to assemble hoses following the same principles used in the original factory. The key benefits are immediate hose replacement, significantly improved hose life and increased machine & staff uptime.
Using a wealth of knowledge from our customers and thoughtful design we have developed a rugged all weather all terrain unit to house our German precision crimping and cutting machinery. The tough and robust construction is built to handle off-road conditions, combined with dustproof and sterile materials to reduce hose contamination. The BOA pod is easy to use with additional safety elements such as low voltage machinery, lighting, lockable compartments and all designed to be at an ideal safe working height. And there has been no compromise on quality to any part of this innovation including the European torsion suspension & braking system on the trailer, which customers can rely on no matter what the terrain.
Understanding industry frustrations along with a commitment to best practice has led us to design features such as an easy hose handling system, a lightweight high-density polyethylene moulded body, aluminium internal fixtures for a quality finish, and ample storage for spare assembled hose and fittings. A huge underbody drawer provides capacity to take away old hoses from site, which helps protect the environment and supports our own zero-contamination goal.
Whilst the BOApod is an innovation in design it is also an innovation in RETHINKing the way businesses approach time management. The ability to have an integrated system wherever you are, no mater how remote, which enables you to keep the business going, means there is no reason not to RESTART your staff and machines in a very short space of time.
This is just one of the innovations we want to show you at Harvest Tech 2019 so come and visit us at Stand 4 inside and Position 12 outside, where you can see the BOApod up close!
